Nanlite LED Studio Workshop
Join us for a studio lighting presentation sponsored by Nanlite and PhotoVideoEDU and presented by Roberts Camera.
Understanding the principles of lighting enables the photographer to bring their creative vision to the world. Whether working with strobes or LEDs, light must be shaped and controlled. In this presentation, we will demonstrate how LEDs can be used to light small products. Today's LEDs produce high quality light with simple controls to create dynamic styles and looks. After the presentation, attendees will have an opportunity to work hands-on to make their own images.

LIGHTING PEDAGOGY/SPLASH OF COLOR
This workshop will start with a quick look at teaching lighting and how to get students to understand properties of light and professional studio practices in a creative practice. I will share my formula taken from years of commercial work and put into a fine art practice and how this gives students the tools to create very technical lighting while thinking in conceptual terms. In the end I will share an entire semester worth of work including assignments and presentations for you to use.
The second half of the workshop will introduce adding splashes of color using strobe lighting and colored gels to create dynamic images. Participants will learn the secret to splitting light to control light fall off, color bleed, and more. As part of this workshop you will have the opportunity to use multiple lighting modifiers and to create your own images with one of our models.

Freezing Motion in Studio with Elinchrom.
How to navigate the “Alphabet Soup” of getting the absolute sharpest possible in studio images. Blake Griffin, US Brand Manager for Elinchrom (and Photo Video EDU’s Dean of Business Development), will go over real-world examples of how flash duration is used to freeze moments in time using Elinchrom Monolight strobes.
Afterwards attendees will be encouraged to use what they learned in class by visiting sponsored shooting bays with dancers in motion.
